Want to read a book of poetry in translation this summer?
Modern Poetry in Translation has begun a wonderful project, where they'll send you one of their books received in exchange for a 100-word "poetry postcard" when you're finished. I don't review books in translation because of my weak knowledge of living foreign languages, so I'm particularly pleased to have an opportunity to read and respond to such a book without that concern. Join me?
ooooh, sounds cool! I'll join!
ReplyDeleteI just sent of my details to join, despite the fact that my reading pile falls over every time anyone walks past it. Looking forward.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to do this especially if its from German ... so count me in - cheers
ReplyDeleteVery interesting. With my potential publisher, I'm currently in negotiation with the French copyright holders of the works of French poet Blaise Cendrars, hoping that they won't slap us with a massive fee for a translation I've done of an epic poem by him! MPIT might be useful source of advice and guidance, as well as providing a rich source of poetry to which one would other wise not have access. Thanks for this link.
ReplyDeleteFantastic! Thanks for pointing this out.
