For me at least, it helped to have some chaff to actually sort the wheat from, if you see what I mean. And if that's only 2 or 3 decent poems, it's better than I churn out in many months of the year!Ben Wilkinsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11077824416777371117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9857818.post-13157418857240821982008-05-01T09:08:00.000+01:002008-05-01T09:08:00.000+01:00well,I haven't managed a complete poem every day e...well,I haven't managed a complete poem every day either, some (most) days a line, an idea, a fragment, but I do find the discipline good and I'll carry on, carrie. This is something I try to do all the time anyway, but this april has been especially productive. some things I'm particularly pleased with and have already been published - here: http://gistsandpiths.blogspot.com/2008/04/five-poems-by-catherine-hales.html. btw great that you're coming to berlin in november!
catherineAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9857818.post-84022072021390003632008-05-01T08:06:00.000+01:002008-05-01T08:06:00.000+01:00... Yeah well... 29, then, but have to say that determination to write even 17 words and call it a poem won out over craft. So not sure that is good or bad... in the end it seemed more like writing exercises to be done as a daily discipline.

But that's not to say I haven't benefitted from the output of thoughts and words. Some nuggets... even a spark of something worthwhile... have flown from a few things, I think.

So would definitely have another attempt again sometime. But for now... time to catch up on some reading on a beach in Spain and a few days rest!

Well done with your more productive (I can assume!) output. I particularly like the Turkish market write you shared with us.

Thanks for the fun!

HelenAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9857818.post-60872047457352615432008-04-30T21:37:00.000+01:002008-04-30T21:37:00.000+01:00Hi Carrie,I also didn't manage to keep the pace in...Hi Carrie,
I also didn't manage to keep the pace in the end.
